Yes, but the UMC at the national level is VERY LIEberal!
Check what your apportionment is supporting.
Is your church a United Methodist Church?
It is my hope that the UMC shrivels up to nothing - I cannot abide the LIEberal ways of the UMC.
In Florida, there is a great deal of valuable real estate owned by the Conference. Its disposition will be of some interest by many people!
That is the situation here.
Perhaps we can drive them out?
No.
Good question. I have asked it myself, and get no satisfaction with the answer.
Apparently, LIEberals took over the church in a “long march” reminiscent of the Chinese Communist takeover of China. It was stealthy, and by the time we realized what was happening, it was too late.
If the UMC General Conference did not include African churches, the UMC would have been all in supporting and encouraging homosexual ministers and bishops years ago.
Thanks. We’ll need it!
We were part of the United Church of Christ.
My understanding was the majority of members were against allowing homosexual marriage. They couldn’t get homosexual marriage approved at the annual session but the next thing I knew, they approved a split, but the majority had to leave.
Yes, but it ain’t over yet!
Did the United Church of Christ go to the dark side and support homosexuality?
The UCC supports queers, atheists, Muslims, etc. everyone except Bible believing Christians!
And NONE of what I just wrote is a joke, an exaggerration, or a sarcasm. I’m dead serious.
Around 1970…
I had no idea!
Culty, is it?
The UCC is not so much culty as it is apostate and heretical.
Culty would be an improvement because at least they’d believe in something!
Thank you for correcting my misunderstanding!
Really not a church, then?
Simply a way to avoid taxes?
I never thought of it that way but I think you’re right the UCC is just a grift.
They have 6,500 or 14,000 on the rolls of the church. HOWEVER, how many of those numbers are showing up every Sunday? There are a couple of large churches around our area that have big enrollment numbers, yet they don’t have 45% showing up each Sunday. And our pastor told us Sunday that he has spoken to a majority of the other church pastors in the area, including the big boys and they say Covid caused a large number of folks to disappear and have not returned. Many just use the Facebook page we all have and watch there, saying it’s all the same. They are listening to the pastor. Yet they miss Sunday morning Bible Study and Wednesday evening Bable Study also. Our pastor is great. I had rather listen to him in person because of the way he comes off.
