Catholic Bishop: Biden Is a ‘Poor, Lost and Confused Soul’ for Saying Church Supports Some Abortions

'President Biden cannot be both a devout Catholic and a pro-abortion zealot,' tweeted Bishop Thomas Tobin.

(LifeSiteNews) – A Catholic bishop has denounced President Joe Biden’s false claim that the Church supports aborting babies conceived via rape and incest, and called for prayers for the president.

Providence, Rhode Island Bishop Thomas Tobin posted a message on Twitter after Biden implied that the Catholic Church would not support Sen. Lindsey Graham’s proposed bill banning abortions past 15 weeks’ gestation except in cases of when a baby was conceived via rape or incest, or of physical danger to the mother.

“President Biden cannot be both a devout Catholic and a pro-abortion zealot,” he wrote. “The two are mutually exclusive. He is a poor, lost and confused soul. Truly, we need to pray for him, every day.”

“Walking with someone, accompanying them, doesn’t mean that we have to agree with or approve of everything they do,” Tobin (not to be confused with left-wing Newark Cardinal Joseph Tobin) continued in another post. “If someone we love is involved in immoral or destructive behavior, and we truly care about them, we should encourage them to change their ways and do better.”

The RCC has been the greatest supporter of the pro-life movement.

True that. But unless they are willing to bring the hammer down, it won’t mean much. The Pope should excommunicate any Catholic who supports abortion (the murder of the unborn). It’s just that simple.

But the Pope will not do that, for political reasons. Politics are put above righteousness. So, yeah. The RCC abortion stance is little more than a paper tiger.

Oh, and this hypocrisy is not unique to the RCC. Most Christian denominations are just as bad.

Never mind the Pope; the American Catholic hierarchy has ensured that voters are never motivated to vote against pro-abortion candidates. They throw other intangibles into the mix (social justice, environment, blah blah blah) despite past Popes’ insistence that abortion is the paramount issue - and Dems reliably win the most Catholic states in the US.

Thanks; unfortunately, it is a driving force in emptying the pews. They don’t lead at all; few see any point in following/supporting them.
