Senate Republicans Propose National Ban on Abortions After 15 Weeks

Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Sep 13, 2022 / 14:00 pm South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced legislation Tuesday that would ban abortions nationwide after 15 weeks, except in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger.

The Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act is an updated version of Graham’s previous 20-week federal ban.

Speaking at a press conference alongside members of several national pro-life groups Sept. 13, Graham said the legislation was designed to “get America in a position at the federal level that’s fairly consistent with the rest of the world.”

Forty-seven out of 50 European countries have bans on abortions before 15 weeks. France, for example, bans abortions beginning at 12 weeks.

“This act provides the bare minimum protections for vulnerable unborn children,” Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, said at the conference. Mancini added that the United States ranks with North Korea and China in allowing “gruesome, late-term elective abortion[s].”

Politics as usual 15 weeks is a more liberal law than France where it’s 14 weeks, Spain where it’s 14 weeks and Hungary in most cases it’s 12 weeks.

Weeks?

Ronald Reagan said rape, incest or the life of the mother the abortion exceptions with no “weeks” formula.

Where did the GOP governors like Tate Reeves in MS get this “weeks” formula that 15-week law down in Mississippi?

Whatever now a Washington RINO pushes it.

Looks like they borrowed from liberal European countries and made it even more liberal.

Five Supreme Court justices said let the states decide and that’s good. No need to feds to get involved other than these federal GOP RINO’s want votes in November.

This is not a national issue and any senator who doesn’t remind people it’s a state issue is incompetent

The argument by conservatives for SCOTUS’s ruling was it should be up to the states and this idiot Grahamnisty brings it back to the Feds.

The Democrats want total no limit abortion, where is their Bill?
The 12 to 15 weeks is something most could live with except those at extreme ends of the issue. To take this issue off the table once and for all it may the only compromise to make.

“Sabotage. The GOPe trying to kill any chance for a red wave”

The red wave wasn’t going to happen after the Supreme Court abortion ruling.
Add in Mitch McConnell being an anti MAGA POS and you have the ‘perfect storm’ to mitigate the democrats losses.

The female pro abortion kamikazes are all fueled up & ready to go.
