Rome Newsroom, Sep 6, 2022 / 06:51 am Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to visit Kazakhstan on the same day Pope Francis will be in the Central Asian country next week.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry has announced that Xi will meet Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Sept. 14 during the pope’s three-day visit to the capital, Nur-Sultan.
The coinciding visits of Francis and Xi come as the Holy See and China are in negotiations over the renewal of a provisional agreement on the appointment of bishops in China.
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said in an Italian television interview on Sept. 2 that a delegation of Vatican diplomats has returned from China and that he believes that the agreement will be renewed this fall.
It would be the second time the agreement with Beijing has been renewed since the Holy See first signed it in September 2018.

Commie summit. Hope a meteor hits the meeting.
Elderly communist, interested in dark spiritual matters, seeks companionship of high functioning communist leader, would love to chat about out of the way places like Wuhan, and where we’re keeping Benedict.
First meeting between the False Prophet and the Seventh King who becomes the Eighth??
There are Catholics in China, and perhaps in Kazakhstan. Francis is not my favorite pope, but it's appropriate that the Vatican maintain communications with these nations.
Except this pope agrees that chicoms get to pick bishops and arrest 90 year old Cardinals in Hong Kong. He thinks China commies version of Catholicism is the way forward.
They could talk about how much fun they are having being a fake rep of God..

The pope can accept certain bad terms from China in hopes of getting some leeway on other terms. Or the pope can order China to accept his terms, whereupon China will impose still worse conditions on the church to show the pope he's not the boss of China.
