I believe you are correct sir. It’s possible that Semiramis murdered Nimrod, and called Tammuz the rebirth of Nimrod. I don’t think we will ever know for sure, but if I recall, wasn’t it the worship of the queen of heaven, that caused the Babylonian captivity? Not much has changed. The queen of heaven is still worshipped today. I think, however, that the worship of the queen of heaven, is actually directed at Satan.
If memory serves, queen of heaven is one of the titles assigned to Mary the Mother of Jesus by the catholic religion. even more blasphemous is their title for Mary as a ‘co-redemtrix’.
Yes, but worship of the queen of heaven is old. Diana of the Ephesians is another name. As far as I know, Mary was the last one.
When God confused the languages at the Tower of Babel, the people took their false pagan religion with them. The worship of Nimrod and Semiramis, was widespread at the time of Christ. The names may change from culture to culture, but I think the basic pagan worship is still with us, even today.
So God Himself calls himself a “father”, but some mere mortal decides to second-guess God and give Him a new title. [smh]
I didn’t mention “my beliefs.”
The exercise is a part of an empowerment scheme. The Roman church incorporated many pagan themes in order to enlist more pagan worshipers, who would -if very religious- follow the dictates of Rome and the ‘coffers’ would bulge the more. ‘Works of righteousness’ were a big theme in pagan worship, so the transition was fluid into the Roman fen.
What was the vote count of the present pope - Francis??
It seems like folks used to...
Acts 17:18-19
18. A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.
19. Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?Acts 18:11

They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.1 Timothy 2:7
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.1 Timothy 4:1-2
1. The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.1 Timothy 4:6

5. and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.2 Timothy 1:13

16. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17. so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.2 Timothy 4:3-4
3. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
4. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.Titus 1:11
They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.Titus 2:1
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.Titus 2:15
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.Hebrews 13:9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.2 Peter 2:1-3
1. But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

No SEMIramis here - you gettin’ the FULL Ramis!
HERE ARE THE SEVEN GRACES:
1. I will grant peace to their families.
2. They will be enlightened about the divine mysteries.
3. I will console them in their pains and I will accompany
them in their work.
4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.
5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.
6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death; they will see the face of their Mother.
7. I have obtained (this grace) from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.
The way it's written:
(I don’t think the ‘your’ was meant to address you, personally, but to anyone that may have those beliefs.)
Sorry, I didn’t mean “you” the poster, I meant “you” as in the subject of the article.
“The Church is the Bride of Christ. Who is God, but who is also Man...”
But not also a woman. God preexists even the concept of man and woman, He created those concepts, and obviously is more than either of those things alone. He can choose to be a man or a woman, or appear as such, since God is sovereign and omnipotent. But He has always chosen to present himself to us humans in the guise of a man, whether when speaking of Himself with pronouns, or when appearing before us in a physical incarnation. So I’ll respect His choice and not the imaginings of fallible humans in this matter.

Does the phrase 'in Whom there is no shadow of turning' mean anything imp[ortant?
“would sying God can appear as a woman be inferring God could divide himself? “
No more than saying God can appear as a cloud, or as a burning bush would I think.
“Does the phrase ‘in Whom there is no shadow of turning’ mean anything imp[ortant?”
I’m not sure what that phrase means exactly. Might make more sense in the original language.
Thanks, Mark. I think, too, that a lot of it is believed simply because people don’t know what the Bible has to say, having never read it, and instead rely on others to tell them its contents.
I think most of these people would be shocked to learn how wrong they are and how misled they’ve been for so long.
How to account for those who’ve read it over and over and STILL rely on others to tell them what it ‘means’?
