Actually, while both praying to created beings in Heaven is not scriptural (which is one of many distinctive RC teachings that are not),

I'm not sure that it's a "distinctive" RC teaching. I think Orthodox Christians also pray to the saints in Heaven, including to the Virgin Mary.
