In 2003, when the ECUSA forced the ordination as bishop of a homosexual who left his wife and kids to shack up with a man. It caused a huge number of members to leave the church, and some entire congregations were forced into lawsuits to try to keep their buildings but join a Bible-believing communion. Many faithful pastors were fired. It's almost 20 years ago now. ECUSA is a shell of its former size.
