Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art in Heaven,

Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!

We Come into your Presence,

Overcome With Awe,

For You Alone Are Worthy of Praise and Worship.

You Alone Are the One True God of Abraham!

I call upon You, LORD, in my distress,

And You Answer me, and set me in a large place.

The LORD is on my side;

I will not fear:

what can man do unto me?

It is better to trust in the LORD

than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the LORD

than to put confidence in princes.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Genesis 47

Joseph and the Famine

13 There was no food, however, in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine. 14 Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaoh’s palace. 15 When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Joseph and said, “Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is all gone.”

16 “Then bring your livestock,” said Joseph. “I will sell you food in exchange for your livestock, since your money is gone.” 17 So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their sheep and goats, their cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through that year with food in exchange for all their livestock.

18 When that year was over, they came to him the following year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord the fact that since our money is gone and our livestock belongs to you, there is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land. 19 Why should we perish before your eyes—we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seed so that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate.”

20 So Joseph bought all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh. The Egyptians, one and all, sold their fields, because the famine was too severe for them. The land became Pharaoh’s, 21 and Joseph reduced the people to servitude,[c] from one end of Egypt to the other. 22 However, he did not buy the land of the priests, because they received a regular allotment from Pharaoh and had food enough from the allotment Pharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell their land.

23 Joseph said to the people, “Now that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is seed for you so you can plant the ground. 24 But when the crop comes in, give a fifth of it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seed for the fields and as food for yourselves and your households and your children.”

25 “You have saved our lives,” they said. “May we find favor in the eyes of our lord; we will be in bondage to Pharaoh.”

26 So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt—still in force today—that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. It was only the land of the priests that did not become Pharaoh’s.

27 Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and were fruitful and increased greatly in number.

28 Jacob lived in Egypt seventeen years, and the years of his life were a hundred and forty-seven. 29 When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called for his son Joseph and said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise that you will show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt, 30 but when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me where they are buried.”

“I will do as you say,” he said.

31 “Swear to me,” he said. Then Joseph swore to him, and Israel worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.[d]

_______________________________________________________

In 2013, I was alone in Honolulu Airport, barefoot, snaking through the TSA line in order to catch a connecting flight home. The elderly gent ahead of me, who showed signs of being in an early stage of dementia, was being assisted by his wife. The wife presented a doctor's letter to the TSA Agent, who shook her head and said the man had to go through the metal detector, letter or not. The poor old guy stepped through the portal and set off every alarm in the place.

"I TOLD YOU!" the woman screamed. "HE HAS A METAL PLATE IN HIS HEAD!"

Then, the poor old man started to weep with embarrassment and humiliation. It was a horrible scene.

Because I was next in line, I opted to go through the X-Ray machine instead of the metal detector, due to the drama that was taking place over there. I normally don't like the X-Ray machine, but, at this moment, it was my best alternative. And so I went through the machine. More Alarms! The TSA Agent came over to me and said,

"There is something obscuring the image on your right breast. We can go into a back room if you want, or I can examine it through your clothing right here."

I had a plane to catch, so I let her touch me, but there was nothing there but me. Suddenly it dawned on me...I was wearing a very strong SUNSCREEN that was blocking some of the X-rays and producing a blurred image. She accepted my explanation, and I ran to catch my plane, leaving behind a scene of apologizing managers, supervisors, and TSA Agents who realized that the weeping old man was a Pearl Harbor Survivor.

No one will argue that the events on 9/11/01 necessitated new security measures, aspecially at airports. However, it seemed that the extra security was directed towards elderly people in wheelchairs, nuns in their habits, and senior citizens wearing too much sunscreen. Meanwhile, the porous Southern Border kept admitting people who don't wish us the best. There also seemed to be a leniency towards people who actually fit the profile of a terrorist, because the Authorities did not want to look as if they were "profiling" them. Political Correctness was trumping actual safety. The COVID madness breathed new life into the TSA's nonsense, and travel has become a worse nightmare than ever. Now that COVID is waning, what will be next? Monkeypox? (I don't even want to know what will be on the questionnaire for THAT!)

Today's Chapter has been used by preachers to illustrate the failure of Socialism, Fascism, Capitalism, and every othe 'ism out there, depending on the preacher's personal politics. First of all, it decries the 20% "Income Tax" of the grain. This was an emegency measure, taken up by Joseph, during the Seven Years of Plenty, in anticipation of the Famine. It was the right thing to do at the time, because God had given Egypt fair warning. When the Famine started, people had plenty of money, and bought back the grain as they needed it. But eventually, they ran out of money. So then they brought their livestock because they couldn't feed them anyway. Finally, as the Famine dragged on, they became indentured serfs in order to survive. Seven Years is a long time. Twenty One Years since 9/11/01 is even longer. I think it's time to defund the TSA and stop harassing Elderly Veterans, Widows, Handicapped People, and Nuns.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
