Barron needs prayers. He’s far from Orthodox.

The problem is, they use that particular prayer over and over and God says not to do that. It was just an example.

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

I post this so that those wish can learn from them. And so come you two knuckleheads,
and decide to double down on…. Unlearning… c’mon smarten up.
The problem is,
they use that particular prayer over and over and God says not to do that.
It was just an example.
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites,
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues
and on the street corners to be seen by others.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans,
for they think they will be heard
because of their many words.
So there’s a problem now praying to God, the way JESUS tells us to?
Really?
You do realize The Lord’s prayer is an affirmation to and of God?
And, Christ’s words are not babbling like pagans do, or a prayer of “their many words”…
Do you hear the Our Father being said on street corners? Do you ?
(OK- they said the Our Father at some Trump rallies – but in that most everyone joined in as one.)
Stop distorting scripture- these are the words Christ has given us to use in Prayer - so he did intend for us to say them. This prayer is infinitely more meaningful than any prayer we can make ourselves.
It comes from Jesus.
In understanding the Words of His Prayer – you can see what Jesus want us to ask God- what is very specifically important to Him:
And Jesus tells us how often too:” Give us TODAY, Our DAILY bread...…
If we aren’t saying the Lord's Prayer everyday- every Morning –
then we are taking God for granted. Every day God gives us we should thank him.
Not once a week- or just once a month – or once a year…. Everyday...
And when we do so, daily, The words of the Our Father prayer
would then be something very, very meaningful to us, embedded;
and we would not then look at it as just merely an “example”.
God Bless.
