Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Revelation 22

Eden Restored

22 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
There is No One Like You.

Oh How They Conspire Together, Father,
Against You and Your Beloved!
They Hate You and Your Law,
How Much More So Do They Despise Your Servants?
Give Us Peace in Our Hearts When We Look at These Situations,
And Give Us Insight into What Is REALLY Going On.
Open Our Eyes to The Spiritual Warfare that Is Taking Place,
So That We Will Be Armed Properly,
And not take these attacks personally.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

It was right during the Folk Music revival of the Early 1960's that I attempted to teach myself guitar. As there were very few Guitar Teachers available back then, I attempted to go it alone, armed only with a Mel Bay guitar instruction book from the 1930's and a bunch of Kingston Trio, Joan Baez, and Peter, Paul, & Mary records. Since I only knew a few chords, I quickly discovered the "Capo", a small metal bar that clamped onto the neck, shortening the strings and changing the key. I went on like this for years, until I got my first Electric Guitar (a Gibson SG Custom with three Humbucker Pickups and a Bixby Tailpiece, which I later sold to pay my rent) when I learned "Barre Chords". Anyway, during the Folky Era, there were a lot of songs called "Negro Spirituals". I really liked these songs because they didn't use a lot of chords, were soulful, and fun to sing with others in a "Call and Response" format. The words, however, were incomprehensible to someone like me, who was Biblically Illiterate at the time. All these songs about Chariots, Dry Bones, Rivers of Life, a Woman at a well who has five husbands, etc, seemed crazy to me, but I really did enjoy singing those songs. Years later, upon reading through the Bible for the first time (about 40 years ago) the references to these songs popped out of the page. The Chariot picked up Elijah and took him to heaven, the Dry Bones were in Ezekiel 27 and represented Israel, and the Woman at the Well was in the Gospel of John.

One of the songs I found particuarly puzzling was one about a Prophet going into a river. At first, it is ankle deep, then knee deep, then up to his waist, and, pretty soon, he is in over his head. It turns out that this is from the Prophet Ezekiel, in which he is describing the River that flows from the Throne of God, described again here in The Book of Revelation. Once again we see the artist desperately trying to picture this scene, in music, paint, and computer art. It all falls short.

The Real Thing is going to be indescribably awesome. Shall we gather at the river, that flows from the Throne of God? See you there!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
