Only God knows.
My great grandmother was convinced that WWI was ushering in the end times. My grandmother thought WWII was the sign. My parents thought the immorality and “free love” of the 60s was a sign. In the last 30 years, I’ve read various articles like this one saying various events were signs.
Just remember - the Lord will come back like a thief in the night. Always be prepared.
And I don’t doubt there were signs and your grandmother was correct. Just because the signs started out slow, as Jesus said they would, doesn’t mean they were not signs of the coming close of the age.
