Kind of a side issue, but I’m puzzled on why the NABRE insists on translating the Greek kyrios as “Master” in this passage. Practically every other translation I’ve seen (both Catholic and Protestant) translates it as “Lord”. There is certainly nothing in the context that demands kyrios be rendered “Master” here and not “lord” or “Lord” as it does elsewhere in the same translation. To me, it takes away some of the subtlety of this scene rather than enhancing the meaning.

Not a huge fan of NABRE here... from what I know it is an in-depth work that uses a historical look with language development for its guide...
I take issue with their handling of kecharitōmenē in Luke.
The KJV even reveres the Blessed Virgin more than NABRE.
I get translations and all, but sometimes you wonder.
Here though, I can see why the translators go out on a limb,
and chose "Master" at this point in the chapter...
As Master/Slave relationships go.. I can see the untethering of the colt (or donkey) as a foreshadowing, freedom giving nod to a sinful servant - being freed from the chains of sin...
In respect to the Masters of the parables and their handling of their servants...
Just spitballin' there...
