Germany is in the process of enforcing assisted suicide ("euthanasia") after their Constitutional Court claimed in February 2020 that the ban on "businesslike euthanasia" contradicts a "right to self-determination".
The bishops and protestants in Lower Saxony and Bremen published an "ecumenical declaration" on this on 16 March, signed by Bishops Bode (Osnabrück), Wilmer (Hildesheim) and Theising (Münster auxiliary bishop).
They justify assisted suicide in individual cases [= always], "Whether in borderline and emergency situations an assisted suicide can be tolerated in church houses cannot be answered in a general way" [= it is allowed].
Wilmer (Hildesheim) said he was "very grateful that we have managed to work out common positions in this controversial debate". The last euthanasia programme was carried out in Germany during the Third Reich.

I wonder how they feel about eugenics?
The Nazi slaughter of millions of innocent ordinary people grew right out of the (corrupted) church. What’s surprising is that the church hasn’t been cleaned up:
/denazified and restored to a true faith path
This especially disappoints me because I saw both saint jp2 and Benedict as sincere Christians
I guess it’s a bit like in USA secular government where President Trump was unable to deNazify/ clean up the Deep State mole operatives like at the Snake Department.
Your criticisms of the Catholic Church and Nazism is not accurate.
Read the statement of the Rabbi of Rome on Church’s actions and the Papal Encyclical with Burning Sorrow.
That we have had many, millions of good, wonderful Christians is correct. Many many indeed. It was the sick teachings of the church over many years that corrupted some people’s minds, led them into evil — darkness.
I am the last person to criticize the correct moral message of faith.
We are blessed by it and __ as we can see every day … we need more of it.
Like, we need bishops who do not preach or try to justify abortion mills and murdering old people in nursing homes, etc. a core proper religious teaching is the sanctity of life, since our Creator gave it to us —
You can look around and see many many good Catholic, Protestant, Jewish clergy teaching love and faith along good lines. But there are some clerics teaching some very bad stuff, too. How to root out the wolves in sheeps’ clothes? I dunno. Especially those that occupy high ecclesiastical posts. Im very open to any ideas how we might achieve this
