Moscow, March 8, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia addressed the parishioners with a sermon on Forgiveness Sunday, where he not only called for forgiveness of each other's insults, but also linked the topic of forgiveness with Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
"Today, on Forgiveness Sunday, on the one hand, as your pastor, I call on everyone to forgive sins and offenses, including where it is very difficult to do it, where people are at war with each other. But forgiveness without justice is surrender and weakness. Therefore, forgiveness must be accompanied by the indispensable preservation of the right to stand on the side of light, on the side of God's truth," the patriarch said after the liturgy in Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
In his opinion, today in Ukraine "we have entered into a struggle that has not physical, but metaphysical significance." The patriarch complained that some Orthodox believers in this war choose the path of least resistance, obediently follow the path that the powerful of this world point out to them.
"We do not condemn anyone, we do not invite anyone to ascend the cross, we just say to ourselves: we will be faithful to the word of God, we will be faithful to His law, we will be faithful to the law of love and justice, and if we see a violation of this law, we will never put up with those who destroy this law, including blurring the line between holiness and sin, and even more so with those who propagandize sin," the patriarch said.
He emphasized that today "our brothers in Donbass, Orthodox people, undoubtedly suffer, and we cannot but be with them, in prayer first of all."
In conclusion, Patriarch Kirill wished that God would help everyone to pass the days of Great Lent in such a way as to celebrate Easter with dignity. "Let us pray that in this joy of Resurrection, all those who are fighting today, who are shedding blood, who are suffering, will also enter in peace and in joy. Because what a joy it will be if some are in peace, and others are in the power of evil and in the tribulation of internecine warfare!" the patriarch said.
Your daily reminder that Kirill has a KGB codename and was tasked with the KGB to spread Liberation Theology through the ROC and international religious organizations.
For this, he was rewarded by being made archbishop of a fake church in a country where only 7% of the population attends church, and where huge numbers of men in the Russian military he glorifies engage in homosexual rape resulting in large numbers of suicides every year.
One point of correction, I meant to say “only 7% attend church once a month.” Number might tick up a bit for people who show up once a year.
Kirill ain’t the equal of Pope John Paul II, that’s for sure.
More bs from fake elite, I don’t believe any human has a clue about God, popes, pastors etc may give a shoulder to lean on, may be studied of the scripture, but without a walk with Him, and the humility required, to say they know nothing they lead all to their personal hell.
Jesus said because they think they know their sin remains..
My 2 cents..
