Former Vatican bishop sentenced for sexual abuse in Argentina

ROME – Argentinian Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta was found guilty by an Argentinian court and sentenced to 4 years and six months of effective imprisonment for aggravated continuous sexual abuse of two former seminarians.

His immediate detention was ordered by the court in Oran, Salta, on Friday morning local time.

“We cannot determine the extent of the damage suffered by the victims, but we do have the obligation to give them an answer from the Justice and give an answer to society,” said prosecutor Pablo Rivero on Thursday, before requesting the conviction and immediate detention.

Zanchetta, the former bishop of the diocese of Oran, in northern Argentina, would boast of his friendship with Pope Francis, who believed the bishop’s claim he was being set up when the allegations were first made against him.

The failure of the church to address their pedophile problem is what prompted me to leave the church over 30 years ago.

It hasn’t gotten any better.

With the rise of the ImPopester, it has arguably gotten worse.

Some folks around here want to pretend it is over.

It is definitely not over—the coverup continues.

Antipope Bergolio actively and constantly defends and shelters pedophiles so and that pattern of behavior indicates that Rainbow Bergolio is a likely a pedophile too.

Is it the church or is it the queers? Pedos will have more access to young boys through the Catholic Church. Just like the Boy Scouts. Just like being out to sea. the way to do it is to join the Navy.

Blaming the church is like blaming the gun for a murder.

They should keep him in solitary confinement until he rats out the pedophiles he protected.

The reforms that were put in place have generally been effective on a going-forward basis as concerns priests. However, the Church obstinately refuses to address the issue at the episcopal level. This is just scandalous. Nothing will really be resolved until they clean their own house at the higher levels.

I didn’t say it was the Catholic Church, I focused on Bergolio.

But it has gotten better, much better. In the US the number of priests who have had credible complaints made against them has plummeted. If there is such an allegation made the first step taken is to call law enforcement.

Way too late.

A known pedophile priest was moved from his last parish to ours.
This was common practice for decades.
I was not a victim, but knew some who were.
It was the last straw for me.

Blaming the church is like blaming the gun for a murder.

The Roman Catholic church requirement that priests be celibate creates a perfect environment/cover for homosexuals. That coupled with homosexual Bishops, Cardinals and Popes running cover for the perverts and sometimes for themselves further gives homosexuals priests cover.

Despite Roman Catholic theologian sophistry, the celibacy requirement is not a biblical requirement and it has helped create the pervert problem in the Roman Catholic Church!
