(For God so Loved The World)
…. "We have the presence of who he is, glorious, but in his modesty, accommodates himself to our visual weakness and impairments by making it so that it looks like bread and wine so we can receive him - when it’s really he who receives us - so he doesn’t blind us with his glory.
If he was to show even 5% of his glory, we would be walking around stone blind. But the glory is there- in the Holy Eucharist…
. What we celebrate is not just the bloody battered body of Jesus on the Cross, but the Resurrected, Ascended, Glorified, Deified body of Christ. It’s one and the same sacrifice.
But the reason we call it an un-bloody sacrifice is, not because we can see him bleeding, but he really is – It is because the Lamb is standing - even though he had been slain - he is standing - Lambs that are dying don’t stand, Lambs that are resurrected do.
The high priest in heaven is the one who offers - and the one who is offering - he is the sacrifice in his resurrected body that comes to us in every single Eucharist.
And I got to tell ya, it wasn’t Roman injustice that put him on the cross, it wasn’t even our sin that put him on the cross , so much that it was The love of God.
It wasn’t divine wrath - as much as it was a demonstration of divine love - whereas Saint Thomas Aquinas said- “It isn’t how much that he suffered that saves us, [contrary to what many fundamentalists will preach] because it wasn’t so much a display of God‘s wrath- but so much of his Love. [contrary to what so many Bible Christians preach].
Suffering without love is unendurable and meaningless -
Love without suffering is still unproven -
Love is proven through suffering -
Love is perfected through suffering, purified through suffering.
But what Love does to suffering?,
Transforms it into what we rightly call a what ..? A sacrifice.
So the sacrament of Love is the Eucharist instituted on a Holy Thursday, and the suffering on the Cross proves that it is more than words.
The suffering of the cross is what perfects the display of God‘s love, and it is what transforms an execution into a sacrifice- Just as the resurrection transforms it into a sacrament.
But not just for him - but for us. Because we are called to Love, and we are called to suffer.
And Love doesn’t diminish our capacity to suffer. Love enhances it, deepens it.
The love that Christ possesses is divine and eternal..."
The above was a partial transcript from a YouTube video of a talk Dr. Hahn gave regarding the Sacramental nature of the Resurrection.
To listen to the full amazing educational talk he gave click the link below. You'll be glad you did.
One hour long, worthwhile YouTube video:
You've got to be kidding!
Scott Hahn's "maternal" Spirit compared to ancient heresies
... the questionable doctrine put forth by Scott Hahn that the Holy Spirit should be understood as feminine and maternal.
Get this straight, Murph:
None of your modernist heros; not Bergoglio, not Barron and nor Hahn "are the Church".
The Catholic Church, Christ's Church, did not begin in 1965.
Yeah, just like the heretic, Jorge, "interprets" not only scripture but also the Holy Ghost's "desires" with Bergoglio's heretical "sin-nods".
You are way too much influenced by your fellow modernists.
