Works show the genuineness of the believer’s claim and is no way contradictory to salvation being by faith alone without works.

Works do not contribute to one’s attaining salvation. They are merely evidence of it and bring God glory.

You know the Church condemned Pelagius and his works heresy..

We are Saved by umerited Grace through our Baptism which regenerates.
The rest is process...
Sanctification that starts in Baptism, transforms us throughout our lives... requiring all- obedience, love, faith and works- all necessary to complete that Salvation process, which is finally complete in Heaven.
There are no cheap short cuts.
No one can say they have obtained Salvation in our earthly flesh.

Christ didn't tell the obedient,
rich young man- that all he had to do was "have Faith" to obtain eternal life...
no, he told him something he did not want to hear...
