Priests who resist blessing gay couples incur a curse, to heed Münster Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Dieter Geerlings, in a statement issued at a religious service in the queer community in Münster.
“Human rights are at stake when it comes to homophobia. A radical change is necessary so that the curse can finally become a blessing," Geerlings said, quoting theologian Hildegund Keul. Many queer people, he says, feel hurt by the way the Church treats them.
"The church must have the courage to welcome back those it has offended and still offends," Geerlings said. Only then can it become a sign of a human vision of the world that does not revolve only around itself.
Regarding the debate that followed the "#OutInChurch" campaign, Geerlings criticized church hiring regulations that discourage hiring openly gay employees, pontificating that the law should regulate working conditions, not people's lives. When more than 120 LGBTI employees came out of the closet in the church, Geerlings confesses that he was "very moved by how these people, also from our diocese, 'exposed themselves to the fire of discrimination in the church'". The bravery of these people also encouraged him to work for comprehensive legal change. All rules that discriminate against homosexual orientations and lifestyles must be removed from church labor law.

Covered completely by St. Paul, in Romans1 and 2 so if that is painful RCC may not be the religion for you. Try Festivus , maybe?
Blessing a sin is BLASPHEMY!
When the church allowed admitted homosexuals into its ranks, it signed its death warrant.
Why were you reminded of that story, and what relevance has that story to the article at hand? Except for the vague connection that they both pertain to administering a blessing, I see no relevance.
Regards,
The incense is blessed as it is about to be burnt for the Glory of God. When reading through Sodom and Gomorrah, at least in the Hebrew, there are similar verbs of being set aside and offered up. Demanding a blessing in a disordered state does not always lead to the result that one wants.
At one time the Pope had a sense of humour and fittingness.
If you want a tangential story, your comments remind me of a Monty Python sketch.

“This is the time on Sprockets when we dance!”
The bishop says the Church “has offended and still offends” by teaching common sense natural law truth necessary for Salvation? Goodness, the arrogant entitlement these people give witness to.
Pray for the souls of these evil degenerates.
Your Bishop Bobby Barron is a huge fan and defender of Pope Francis. Birds of a feather, flock together, uh?
