John 14:15
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
1 John 2:3-5
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a LIAR, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:
1 John 5:2-3
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
Very simple formula for salvation:
Saved by Grace, THEN obey God’s commandments.
Saved by Grace, then REFUSE to obey God’s commandments? Then good luck to all Nicolaitans. (They believed and said that a person is saved by grace and therefore it doesn’t matter how you live....**once saved, always saved**, MAKING THE LAW OF GOD OF NO EFFECT. That is antinomianism)
Definition of antinomian: a believer in the doctrine that faith alone, not obedience to the moral law, is necessary for salvation.” Websters New World Dictionary.
Example: Ravi Zacharias
God will not tolerate (unrepentant) lawlessness.
Do you, cultist seventh day adventist, even know the TWO commandments Jesus gave us?
Here we go again...
What saves you? Your faith in Jesus Christ or your obedience to the commandments? It's either grace OR works - not both. One is through the mercy and grace of God the other is you make yourself worthy through your deeds. You can't get it out of your head that NO ONE is saying it we should refuse to obey God or it "doesn't matter how you live"! Of course it matters! But my obedience and works do not contribute to my salvation. If you seek to be justified by the law you are fallen from grace - you make the cross of Christ to no effect.
