Yep, my vote is with the get different friends contingent.
As a Christian… between you and the lord.
I no longer attend church services because I cannot stand the pastors/ministers or priests that I have met. I fundamentally disagree with their new age theology.
Maybe find a new church that you both agree on.
Can you make a specific argument as to why the thief on the cross doesn’t prove that baptism is not vital to Salvation? Instead of just saying I’m confused or blah blah blah. Just what is your exact defense of that position? Thanks
Sad that someone judges another as not Christian. That’s a sin. Sad that the judgement comes from acts the person they are judging may or may not have performed, as though some someone thinks they get to interpret the Bible and decide what constitutes a Christian.
Agree. Baptism does not save. It is an outward sign of belief, a testimony, but not saving. The thief on the cross is a good example.
What is wrong with using the thief on the cross?
Finally some scripture!
And here’s a thought:
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
1 Peter 3:7
So maybe the man of the house covers his family, as Lot did, until his wife looked back….
I don’t want to say anything about the state of anyone’s soul but your friend sounds presumptuous and arrogant and maybe a little prideful.
Does baptism save one?
Yes or no?
Sad that someone judges another as not Christian. That’s a sin.

Think Pete Buttigieg and Barack Obama are Christians?
Tell your friends the only one who will decide if your wife is saved, will be her Maker when she’s passed on, and not some pissant, pretend friend.
I was Board Chairman at a small Christian school for five years 2005-2010.
I had never run into “Is this one or that one saved” before, I don’t think it’s scriptural for a Christian to set himself up as judge of someone else’s salvation status.
Agree? You need to read my reply again and understand this. Baptism is essential to salvation. Let me rephrase that. You cannot be saved if you disbelieve the basic fundamental doctrine of baptism.
Read this. Basic fundamental Bible principles as to what is wrong with the thief on the cross excuse.

Is your wife faithful to you? Does she make an effort to make you happy?
If the answer to both is “yes”, then you are in a good marriage. Shun anyone who attempts to create discord between you.
Read this short, concise and biblically accurate sermon outline as to why the thief on the cross is a poor example relating to the essential nature of baptism.

No church is perfect but God wants you in one and participating. I found a fantastic bible-believing Church in Massachusetts. If I can find one here then there’s one near you.
The Methodist Church may not be saved but if your wife had a "day of salvation," (2 Corinthians 6:2) of regeneration with its basic transformative effects in heart and life, and seeks to serve God in faith and good conscience, then she should have confidence that she is "in the faith." (2 Corinthians 13:5)
The redeemed are those who come to God as sinners knowing their desperate need of salvation - not as a souls saved by their works or church affiliation, but as destitute of any means or merit whereby they may find salvation - and with a humble and penitent heart (that wants a new life following Christ) believe on the crucified and risen Lord Jesus who alone can save them on His account, by His sinless shed blood and righteousness. And who thus are baptizes and follow Him. Thanks be to God!
What if a person gets baptized but doesn’t accept Christ?
