Within the past week I have spoken with a half-dozen other Catholics who, like me, have begun regularly attending the Traditional Latin Mass. In every case, their movement toward the TLM began during the current pontificate. We did not move toward traditionalism because the Trads attacked the Pope; it would be far more accurate to say that we moved in that direction because the Pope attacked us.

Whether heretic or merely a very bad pope, Bergoglio is taking a wrecking ball to the Church.

The Church will survive. The gates of Hell will not prevail, therefore, the misdeeds of Bergoglio will most certainly not prevail either.

But we, the sheep, will suffer for now, as nearly all our hierarchs, Bergoglio included, are either wolves or mere hirelings. Very few shepherds these days.

I find myself in a similar situation as Mr. Lawler. I’ve never been to a TLM. I’ve generally been able to find reverent Masses not terribly said. But I’ll be moving to Sarasota in a month, and my wife has picked out the FSSP we will generally attend. We’ll pass by several ordinary Catholic churches to get there. We’ll join our territorial parish, because there are practical benefits. But we will likely mostly support the FSSP parish, and rely on them for spiritual direction.

My wife is looking to buy a mantilla.
