The sequence of events:

13.8 billion years ago, the Creation Event (Big Bang), with light permeating the universe soon thereafter

4.556 billion years ago, the Formation of Earth, surrounded by a thick cloud layer

2.5± billion years ago, the Thinning Atmosphere, permitting light to reach the earth's surface

Sounds about right. I suspect “light” in this case means “visible light”, as there were likely already other forms of energy impinging that would penetrate a cloud cover.

Yes. The earth's surface was not frozen water, for example, so solar radiation got through.

After a couple or three billion years, the primitive oceanic life forms had largely completed the basic processes of preparing the oxygen sinks and ore deposits, and raised the atmosphere's oxygen to 10%, so God moved on to multicellular life.

Interesting concept, although I think it takes visible light to do chlorophyllic generation of oxygen. Perhaps it was the ingress of visible light that triggered the change from reducing to oxidizing atmosphere and the formation of those ore deposits.

God had many balls in the air, including slowing planetary rotation from five-hour days and changing the sun’s luminosity. Meanwhile, angels watched and wondered.

Bu the way, glad to have you aboard.

Here’s a tradition/Kabbalistic mind-bender for you. G-d created the sun and stars later in the week. So what was the “light” that was created on this day?

The 25th word of the Torah inspired the 25th letter, because "hei" is seed for you:

💡

Eureka!

E-G-Y-P-T

You know, the one letter that doesn't belong in Egypt because it simply refuses to get along (rhyme) with all the others.

3. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt:
4. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses; And he said, Here am I:

It's the Y'S I tell ya, because I can read the writing on the wall. ;)

In case of fire, break glass..

From the beautiful paintings, y’all must be Catholic... Can Evangelicals talk about evolution and big bangs if it’s not in scripture?

He must have done something as the earth still has an electromagnetic field around it many years after it should have aged out of existence protecting the surface from cosmic rays. Scientist believe an “unknown force” is keeping our electromagnetic field in place after other planets in our solar system have lost theirs. It may be the same “unknown force” that keeps the universe in existence as the scientific calculations of matter and antimatter don’t balance and should cancel each other out thus no universe. The unknown force does a lot for humanity as scientists can’t use the G word.

The same conundrum they have with why atom's like forces don't repel each other but stay in orbit. Used to be referred to as "nuclear glue" but now called the "strong force". Those who aren't afraid of the G word know:

For in Him (Jesus Christ) all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:16,17)

Dunno.
I have a much easier time believing it was literally six days of Creation than believing the mathematical odds of evolution.

I am enjoying the art, especially Edward Burne-Jones.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I am Roman Catholic...and a convert to it from Anglo-Catholic Episcopalianism. But I am also a hard scientist (PhD Chemist) with WIDE interest in science.

There is no real conflict between Scripture and science.

quote
There is an unanswered pregnant pause.

Phinneous, a play on the phrase,if I may..

That pregnant pause was answered when the sun clothed the woman and the moon ended up under her feet.

A day on the Father’s calendar that isn’t one of His 6 work days, or His 7th Day Sabbath, according to instructions the Creator gave Ezekiel (Ezekiel 46)

A day that commemorates John 1:14.
But also commemorates John 1:1 and Genesis 1:1.

He has a day every month,Israel was to pause.
Have banquets, feasts.
Go to temple.
Close the shops and markets

Very close to what we Americans would equate to a combination American Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Once a month. At the beginning.
To commemorate just that.
The Beginning.
The Word.
The Word Made Flesh.

The pregnancy was ‘paused’ till about 2,000 years ago, but Israel was being prepared for it..

A completely different pattern emerges when one starts 1, then 6,then 1, like He taught Ezekiel with the inner gate at the temple.

It gets really interesting at the second 6 work days for the same Son, the Word Made Flesh, born to be the Passover Lamb, who takes away the sins of the whole world..

Truer words have never been spoken.

If you, a believing scientist, are not yet aware of Christian astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross and his science-faith thinktank Reasons to Believe, well, you are now.

Also, here is his Sunday school class, now in its 44th year--I've only attended since 1980.

I am familiar with him, though not to the extent you are. I pretty much reached similar conclusions on my own, so have never felt the need to “become convinced”.

My switch from Episcopal to RC was another matter, but deep study convinced me that RC had the biggest portion of the truth, and that I needed to be where that was.
