“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” (Proverbs 27:1).
There are a ton of things that are different today in over just the last ten years. We have gone far downhill. What's the next 10 years going to bring if the Lord tarries? Where will we be in another quarter century? If I live as long as my day did, presumably I'll still be alive in another quarter century. I am not boasting myself tomorrow, but I will be about 90 years old. So, I might have a chance, though I am biting at the bits to go up and see my wife again.
It is a real possibility that if we lose Congress further to the National Socialist Party, it may be illegal to profess Jesus Christ openly, and prison may be the result of meeting together to have church just like in China. Or if we are fortunate enough to have godly leadership in our nation we could see a national revival, especially if we can get a Supreme Court that judges based on the Constitutional and not the whims and feelings of judges that think they are the legislators.
Where will we be in 25 years? We have no clue, so we had better do what you can today, this week, this year, okay? and pray for the best while preparing for the worst and see what happens. Right? The point is, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
Do not presume it will be as easy to learn the Bible ten years from now as you can today. Do not presume that you will always have as much liberty now. Do not presume that it won't be much harder in ten years to get somewhere so you can serve God because then gas maybe $12.00 a gallon. Right? Just think how $12.00 a gallon would affect your thinking about things. Some of us would suddenly have to think about how often we can actually go to church, especially if the only Bible-believing church is more than 25 miles away.
If anyone would like to be added to the ping list, please let me know either by post or by p.m.

Today, this verse suggests to me, personally, to ponder on what He said similarly through another writer:
James 4:13-15 (AV; bolding added for emphasis):
"Go to now, ye that say,To capture and apply the thought, the motto of the Boy Scouts of America, back when I was young and BSA still was faithful to God and fellow mankind:To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."
The first step of preparedness is to be regenerated by having complete saving trust in Jesus, continuing along a lifelong walk in the daily journey in progressive holiness, guided by the Spirit from without and within, resting in Him from Whom all blessings flow, with a mindset as in today's marvelous, utterly wise instruction from Proverbs, ready to accommodate what the Heavenly Father has prepared for the day.
Amen!
