It's pretty sad when I have a lot more respect for Putin than I do for the vast majority of my own countries' leadership.

From what I can see, Putin cares for his country. He knows that demographics is destiny. He can see that his country’s ethnic Russian population is dwindling, while minorities are gaining.

I think he is pushing traditional values not necessarily because he believes them, but that traditional values are the only way the Russians will survive.
