PROFITING FROM PROVERBS – 12/25/2021

“Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain” (Proverbs 25:14).

TOPICS: Ministry/Outreach
KEYWORDS:
“Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain” (Proverbs 25:14).

We have been talking about fake preachers with fake gifts deceiving multitudes at these so-called healing tents. If somebody says, “Well, I know for a fact that somebody got delivered at one of those places.” I knew somebody that said that, too. I know a pastor that said he had some folks that got caught up in a big Pentecostal/charismatic healing gig and somebody went and legitimately got healed, and it messed him up for the rest of their Christian life. They wound up as Christian casualties.

Now, here's what I know. I know the devil can heal too. OK? Satan has powers as well. There will be a time when he will come back as the Antichrist with all power, signs and lying wonders. So, just because something works, it doesn't mean it is God.

Are there not a lot of claims made that are not substantiated? One guy married into a Pentecostal family and his pastor never did raise anybody from the dead; but claimed that he had the power to be able to do so, and to me that's the thing. Look, if you have the kind of power that Paul had with handkerchiefs and so on, why don't you why do you even mess with churches and crusades? Why do you mess with football stadiums and big tents? Go to the hospital!

Do you really think that you wouldn't make any money in the hospital? If I had cancer and somebody walked in laid their hands on me and healed me and they were legitimately Holy Ghost sent, I’d give them everything I had. Seriously folks, you wouldn't have a problem with money if you had that genuine gift. But they don't have a gift. They boast a false gift. They are finaglers, they are frauds, they are fakes. It's a charade. It is a disgrace. They are as bad as any grifter spending time behind bars for bilking old folks out of their life’s savings.

Daily Bible study is necessary if we are going to begin our day with the right attitude and the right spiritual diet. Proverbs has 31 chapters, and most months have 31 days, so let's read a chapter of Proverbs a day and see what God might have for us. As the Lord leads, share with us what God has shown you in a special way and by His grace let us build up a devotional repository. Let's keep our knives and forks handy for some daily bread! Ideally, a chapter or two of Proverbs will fit in nicely with a good plan of reading our Bibles through each year.

If anyone would like to be added to the ping list, please let me know either by post or by p.m.
