“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” (Proverbs 11:25).
Something that isn’t watered dries out. There is a reason why a lot of Christians are dry. They’ve just never learned how to be a blessing and a help to other people. They don’t water others, so they are not watered and they are just as dry as crackers.
Water, in the Bible, is likened to the Word of God, in Ephesians chapter 5:25. It is also likened to the Holy Spirit in John: “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified)” (John 7:37-39 KJV).
The reason some Christians haven’t seen the Spirit or gotten a revelation from the Bible for so long is because they are not a blessing or a help to anyone else. A Christian starts to sacrifice himself for other people, and God will water him a little bit with the Word and will water you with the Holy Spirit, and he will have a joyful life, and a fruitful life, and a life worth living.
