“The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens” (Proverbs 3:19).
According to John 1 and Hebrews chapter 1 and Colossians chapter 1, that means that Jesus Christ, whom God made all things by; that He is the Incarnate wisdom . . . God manifest in the flesh. “The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth,” well, He did it by His word, and that word was Jesus Christ. Therefore, Jesus Christ must be wisdom Incarnate and he must be understanding. And so “in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3). It's cool thing.
“The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.” This is one of my favorite verses. Those of you who are carpenters know what framing is. You know that any structure you build has to be built upon substructures and eventually substructure has to go down into a foundation, and eventually the foundation has to rest on rock somewhere or on something that will hold it up.
Whenever a bridge collapses, it is usually due to a plate that was missing when it was originally built, and all that kind of stuff. You know that it's just simple framing on which everything is built upon. You know that the bottom has to be stronger than the top. You know that it has to be properly framed.
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear" (Hebrews 11:3).
Here is something that you can contemplate about your God. “The worlds were framed by the word of God,” You know what it hangs on. Sheetrock hangs by nails. Everything hangs on something. Buildings are set on footers and those footers are set on ground which eventually go down or sit on a rock and that kind of thing. “The worlds are framed by the word of God.” They are hanging on what God said! That’s amazing!
“. . . so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” It's not just that atoms are little, and it's not just that atoms are too tiny to see; it's that they say that on the atomic level there's all this empty space. On the atomic level, it's all just little particles all out there going around each other hanging on nothing, but you know if you go out slip on ice or bust your head on the asphalt, you know that there's something to it. It's hard, but it's framed on nothing.
The Bible says that one day the elements themselves will melt with fervent heat and what we're going to have is a nuclear fusion—one giant meltdown. All of the energy of every Atom in this universe is going to be released instantly, because by him all things consists, and he decides finally to let it all go and it won’t consist anymore.
It's all because He said, “Stay together.” For 6000 years He said, Stay together, stay together, stay together.” One day He's going to say, “OK, that’s enough.” And all of this will go away in one big fireball.
