“For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil" (Proverbs 1:32-33).
The fact that the Lord doesn't make their money moth-eaten, and that their prosperity is not always accompanied with disease and horrifying dreams and all the all the things that the Lord can plague somebody with; sometimes the Lord will let the wicked prosper and that prosperity kills them.
“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil." It's amazing when you stop to think how much emphasis the Lord puts on preaching. How much emphasis He puts on the word of God. Our “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God,” and whatever else might be the case you are in the right place if you're under the Bible.
You may be in part simple, and you may be in part a fool. There may be times that you're tempted to mock or scorn or whatever, and you may have all kinds of horrible character flaws; but it says in verse 33, “But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely.” If you're in a place where you will listen, then there's a place for you even if you lean towards being a fool or lean towards being simple. If you will listen, there is a place where you can go and dwell safely.
Now, notice what safe is though. “Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Remember this guy’s fear in verse 27? It “cometh as desolation,” right?
The thing that bothers most people is not what is actually going wrong right now, but what could go wrong tomorrow. People are more worrywart than they will admit. More than one person is worried about how they are going to die. A lot of times the specters that bother us the most are what we are afraid of.
Verse 33, “But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from the fear of evil.
