“It’s not a happy experience,” he told America Magazine. “I found another Catholic venue, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and a church where they were willing to let me in and allowed my wife to join me. So it’s become my new faith home.”

"Archdiocese of Chicago", whose antibishop is Francis Cardinal Blazing Cupich.

“Durbin criticized church leaders for not being as harsh with President Donald Trump about his support of the death penalty...however, Trump is not Catholic so Communion was not an issue with him.”

Dick Durbin, canon theologian, displaying some serious intellectual chops right there.

Since a ton of Democrats are functionally(key word) atheists to begin with, I am surprised any of them even care.

Wilton Gregory was a douche and despised as a compromising suck up who was endorsed by the hierarchy to bring more blacks into the Catholic church when I was in the seminary. His classmates disliked him intensely. He is still an opportunistic douche. That he supports abortion supporting politicians says everything you need to know about his beliefs and desire for power

“abortion is a more egregious and pressing problem because it kills exponentially more human beings”

Well, I’d say the really important moral difference is that abortion intentionally kills innocent human beings. The death penalty at least ostensibly is not intentionally trying to kill innocent people, even if we know that it does happen.

Catholic politicians who publicly support abortion are the least concerned about being denied Communion. They’re merely adding theatrics to the hoax they are playing on the general public.

A friend of mine went to high school with Lil Sick Durbin in downstate Illinois, told me that back then, even though Durbin attended a Catholic school, he ran with a bad crowd of teens after school. They would pile in a car and go to East St. Louis where they played a “game” they called n***er polo. One guy would hang out a window as the driver would drive close to the sidewalk...they took turns. The guy hanging out the window, in order to score, had to ssuccessfully swat black pedestrians with a stick as the car drove by the unsuspecting victims. Durbin has always been a douchebag.

Durbin complains the way all brats do...ducking personal responsibility and saying “...but Ma, all the OTHER kids do ...”

He continued: “[M]y views on abortion are publicized regularly with my voting record. Other Catholics may share my point of view — statistics suggest they probably do — but they show up to Communion every week without any questions asked. In the end it is a personal decision to stand at that rail, and I think with very few exceptions, Communion is offered to anybody if the person believes that they are worthy of it.”

I haven't been a Catholic for more than 30 years, and yet I remember reciting these words before receiving holy communion:

"Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed."

Another version that I've heard, said before communion is:

“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”

Which brings me to my point about Dick Durbin: The absolute arrogance of his statement is stunning. He considers himself "worthy" of receiving Holy communion.

The only thing we are worthy of is God's wrath and the punishment we all as sinners deserve. Thankfully, our Father in Heaven had our redemption to Him planned and worked out through the blood of Jesus Christ, the perfect sacrifice for our sins. I trust God's almighty judgement and I would not want to be Dick Durbin on Judgement Day. The arrogance of that man just makes me sick.

Durbin's home diocese is 100% correct in withholding Holy communion from him. They are trying to save him from sin, a point that's lost on Durbin.
