LBC presenter James O'Brien has called a pastor “a disgrace” during a debate over praying for someone with unwanted same-sex attraction.
Pastor Walter from a church in Warrington called ‘The Mystery Hour’ programme to share his thoughts on the government's set of proposals to ban 'coercive' conversion therapy under new legislation coming out next year.
Pastor Walter said he agrees that all abhorrent practices such as “electric shock therapy” and even stories of “fathers attacking their daughters who came up as gay” should be banned but found it difficult to understand how praying for someone was the same as those practices.
“If a consenting adult came to me as a pastor and explained that he or she had same-sex desires or feelings, whatever word we want to say, I can't see how me praying for them to help them overcome that, or again, however, you want to word that, is the same as doing the other sorts of things mentioned.”
LGBT Christian activists want ‘coercive prayer’ to be included in the conversion therapy ban, as they believe "any prayer that is made with a precondition that one has to be straight, that one has to fit a certain norm” is harmful.
However, many Christian leaders have expressed concern about this issue as they think the ordinary work of churches could be criminalised and therefore interfere with their freedom of belief.
But LGBT campaigners say they are referring to "focused prayer on an individual that has a predetermined, one-way directional outcome” and not preaching or praying in large groups about the subject.
O’Brien then asked the pastor: “How hard would I have to pray to make you gay?” to which the pastor replied: “I don't believe it's about how hard anyone has to pray for anything.”

They don’t know what demons are. Very easy to be mislead into perversion. Even “straight” people (many of them) are misled into perversion.
More last days stuff from reprobates that can’t discern good from evil . . .not to mention no common sense. It’s “the goats and sheep separating themselves” time.
These same people believe that people can be born a woman in a man’s body and vice versa and should be able to mutilate themselves both physically and chemically to somehow change and avoid this genetic and physical reality of who they are to “convert” themselves.
But if someone has a same-sex attraction they don’t want - you can’t say that and it must be banned.
Obviously a complete contradiction - showing what utter nonsense the Left’s entire belief system is on this.
These people against “conversion therapy” are OK with activists grooming children into sodomite behavior.
They support conversion, but only one direction.
When it has looked like so many have been turned over to depraved minds it should not surprise any to learn when all is said and done that they had been.
I will also say that while the idea that the actual final Antichrist will be a raging poofter has fallen out of favor these last four decades I just do not see the depraved (because they’ve rejected Christ) following anything that doesn’t include a heaping helping of faggotry, not just homo friendly but possibly homo mandatory.

It sounds like the GerBiLs think that praying might actually work, and they’re terrified of it.
The old moral equivalence trick. As if the overwhelming presence of heterosexuality in nature is somehow just the other side of a coin, with full-on homosexuality on the other side. Nope; still a very small minority, and half of those will quit their gay rebellion once they're out of college or mom's basement.
The moral equivalence arguments based on imaginary math don't work.
It's the same with "left-wing" vs. "right-wing" arguments. "The right" tries to align with the larger, eternal and absolute values. "The left" is narcissistic and covetous, and tries to destroy eternal values by force.
Leftism may make inarticulate conservatives guilty for a time in some ways in localized places, but it never lasts. Human nature doesn't change. God doesn't change. His Word is true yesterday, today, and forever.
