Are there any Christians still in United Methodists? Hard to imagine.
They look like Pilgrims. Not everybody reads stupid novels or watches dumb bass movies................
Sorry fellow Freepers. But most of mainline American Protestantism has degenerated into neo pagan nihilism. Don’t feel alone, Pope Francis is right on your heels.
It depends on how old your grandmother is. As far back as 1971 (before Roe v Wade) they were meeting in the Methodist Building in DC to build a "religious" coalition to support abortion. And donations to the Methodist church was paying for it.
Look up the history of the GBCS (General Board of Church and Society), the RCAR (Religious Coalition for Abortion Rights) and RCRC (same organization with new name Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice). The Methodist leaders spear-headed that through their GBCS (their lobbying group). Starting as far back as 50 years ago.
John Wesley, who preached heavily on living holy lives and was very much a part of the Holiness Movement, is rolling over in his grave.
The problem with this country is the church. Once a bulwark against depravity, wickedness and insanity now all onboard. Certainly tail to the rotten thoroughly corrupt establishment.
Hmm... Their Bible reads differently than mine.
Let me put it to you this way. My Grandmother passed at age 90 years ago and took me to her church when I was a child. This crap did not go on, I remember.
Are you a Methodist? Theres plenty of them that are ChristIan. The church separated over homosexual unions. What other churches did that? This singular chirch these women are a part of are is Satanic! Read Revelations some time. Out of the 7 churches, Jesus said would only stand with the 1 church of Philadelphia
Ephesus: The church that had abandoned its first love for Christ (Revelation 2:4).
Smyrna: The church that would face severe persecution (Revelation 2:10).
Pergamum: The church that needed to repent of sin (Revelation 2:16).
Thyatira: The church whose false prophetess was leading people astray (Revelation 2:20).
Sardis: The sleeping church that needed to wake up (Revelation 3:2).
Philadelphia: The church that had patiently persevered (Revelation 3:10).
Laodicea: The church with lukewarm faith (Revelation 3:16).
Adding extra lanes to The Road to Hell.
Indeed, the mainline has become the ‘wide road’.
Praying to the God of the Left - Lucifer.
The Methodist churches I’ve known (my dad went there) were always on the more liberal side of the “moderate” position.
I will give the church a thumbs up for sponsoring the Boy Scout troop I was in, though.
I personally attended a much more conservative church where my mother’s side of the family attended.
They may be many things, but people of Faith, they are not. In the end, they will hear Jesus say, depart from me, I never knew you.
My grandmother funded and help found one a very long time ago that grew quite large.
She’d be blown away by this.
...”But the supposedly Christian women’s organization.....”
a good line, that.......
Women have taken over the individual churches across the nation.
They may not be the pastor but they control the finances, the head the groups within the church (church pantry, community outreach groups etc) , who gets hired and what is spoken.
The woman elder in our local Prebysterian church is the manager of the local battered womens shelter.
Sick people with no faith in God. Babies Lives Matter.
The Methodists that I know are not like this group.
“”This is NOT my Grandmother’s Methodist Church!”

Also, in the 60’s the Methodists “voted” that sexual intercourse between engaged couples was no longer sinning. (I forgot what book/chapter/verse that was in.) No longer needed to get married to have at it. Also, since adultery concerned married couples only, engaged was the way to go.
Those Methodists, real swingers those people...
