My niece, a devout Catholic was a membe of Opus Dei as a young woman. The nicest thing I can say about Opus Dei is a hat they are a cult that use and abuses their members. Anything else will get be banned from the site. and all this was many years before pope socialista fagato.

I’m an Opus Dei reject.
They ran an academic symposium in the metro area where I lived. It was actually a subterfuge to recruit very young men. I was 14 at the time. I had a long and bewildering interview with the local head honcho, who kept insisting my middle name was “Franco” (as in Francisco Franco). It’s actually “Frank.”
Well, I failed the interview. Never heard from them again. But they did publish my paper. LOL!
Years later, my older son, who often hung out at the Opus Dei “house” near campus at college, told me that they had had a certain relationship with the generalissimo, and were hoping that I had some distant connection to the old man as well..
