“His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins" (Proverbs 5:22).
Now, the danger is spiritual: “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves" (Romans 1:21-24).
It is a bad habit to form to be sneaky. It is a bad habit to form to continue to dip your finger in the case of the world's icing and to think that a little won’t hurt and you quit anytime you want to. It’s been proven several hundred million times that that's not the case. These people in Romans 1:24 all started with nothing more insidious then not glorifying God and not being thankful, and just having a different perspective of how they should worship God in vss. 21-24. Their sin led them to the place where God gave them up unto uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts. When the Lord quits dealing with you about the lusts of your own heart, you are in trouble and you need to start backing out of the quicksand real fast.
“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature" (Romans 1:25-26).
One preacher wrote the following:
"God through Jeremiah warned us of fake and phony prophets (in Jeremiah 23, for example). The Devil does much of his best work through false prophets and perverted religious isms. Never have we had so many!
"One reason why we have to be patient with unbelievers is that most of the “religion” many people know about now is what they see on religious TV! The religious flip-flops of fluent speakers who have gone where the money is, and the compromises of pastors and evangelists they once had confidence in, adds to the confusion. Many denominations have given in to the sodomite bombardment or the contemporary music culture or the “fun church” philosophy or modernistic theology, so you can’t be surprised the average Joe isn't interested in “religion.”
"A Danish Lutheran minister has been reinstated at his church after a year of suspension for saying, “There is no heavenly God.”
"He also said there is no resurrection. I don't know whether he got converted or the church decided they didn't believe in God either, but he's back. Some things are too sad to laugh about."
