Similarly Jesus changed Simon's name to Rock i.e. Cephas the first time that name was ever used for a man

Levi = "to take" changed to Matthew = "Gift of the Lord" - and Matthew was a gift as the leading evangelist

Simon = listen to Cephas/Peter = Rock

Did you know that according to Simon/Cephas/Peter/Rock/Petros to call someone a dumbass?

“But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.” 2 Peter 2:16
