Priests of the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 may not minister to the sick, elderly, and homebound, Bishop John Stowe has directed.
The policy was announced during a Saturday vigil Mass Sept. 11 that Bishop Stowe celebrated at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington.
At the end of the liturgy, Deacon Tim Weinmann read a statement from the cathedral’s rector, Father John Moriarty, that both Fr. Moriarty and Father David Wheeler, the parochial vicar, have not been vaccinated.
“The bishop has asked that Fr. David and I, Fr. John – I’m speaking for Fr. John – make an announcement that we are not vaccinated, so people can decide if they wanted to attend Mass where they were celebrating,” the deacon read, according to a video of the Mass posted by the Cathedral of Christ the King.
“And if also the priests – and this has been done throughout the diocese – those priests that are not vaccinated are to follow the COVID protocol in the liturgy, and they are not allowed to visit the sick or elderly that are homebound,” the announcement continued. “Fr. John and Fr. David, again, have not been vaccinated.” Bishop Stowe stood beside Deacon Weinmann while the announcement was read but did not comment afterward.
It is not clear from the announcement Saturday whether other priests in the diocese must publicly disclose that they have not received a COVID-19 vaccination. A spokesperson for the diocese was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.
Trish Collier, a parishioner in the diocese, attended one of the weekend Masses at the Cathedral when the announcement was again made about Moriarty's and Wheeler's vaccination status.

If this causes them to give in and get the vaccine, they could be more likely to spread the virus to others.
Bishop Stowe seems to be the AOC of the American bishops.
They’re probably the healthiest visitors old folks could expect to see. This country is just adopting more and more policies to murder citizens and direct all thisnhate towards people who are healthy.
This is proving out the old 50s and 60s psych experiments of shocking strangers at higher and higher voltages.
Stowe is a francisbishop, consecrated in 2015.
They only need to be tested. If positive, they can’t go; if negative, they can wear masks.
If this causes them to give in and get the vaccine, they could be more likely to spread the virus to others.

My front yard: my workplace: when the jabs were few, the last year and a half, total 2 in my workplace the LAST year get C flu. Last month, the jabs are pushed, 8 jabbed get the C flu, one has serious side effects. Two of us unvaxed finally catch the C flu. We now have natural immunity, we have what the vaxed want but can not get.
Folks listen up. It is getting clear: All will eventually get the C flu, vax or no vax, only those that are unvaxed and recover will have “ Pureblood”. At 63 I thank God for the C flu, getting through it, now I have huge Peace, something the vaxed will never have. Why are SO many people SO afraid of getting sick? The C flu is 99.8 percent survivable. Why is the majority of people I know catching the C flu vaxed? FEAR, and unbelief in our Creator will destroy you.

I would only ask for unvaxxed clergy and tell the bishop to go to hell.
Fr. John Moriarty used to be my priest at another parish. Good man. I don’t know his politics, but he doesn’t strike me as a wokester. Unlike the dumpster fire that Bishop Stowe is.
Next step: parents not vaccinated will lose parental control over their children.
They should be tested for immunity, not vax status.
Considering the breakthrough cases and how it appears that the vaxxed can be super spreaders, sending them to minister to the health compromised is tantamount to murder.
And that WITHOUT prophylactic treatment.
If the medical community did not send people home with no treatment or advice except to say that if you can’t breathe or your lips are turning blue, go to the ER, then we’d have an even higher survivability rate.
But no, they wait until the damage to the body is literally done and people are so far gone there’s almost nothing that can be done, and then whine about it’s mortality rate.
It’s medical negligence and malpractice.
