Berlin's Gethsemane Church held a service under the motto 'homophobia is a sin,' on Saturday, ahead of a Pride march in the German capital.
Sign says: "Homophobia is a sin."
Wolfgang Beyer from GayChurch Berlin spoke at the service saying, "God is not the problem, he does not hate homosexuality because it comes from him, nothing can be taken from him when people feel what was given to them as a gift from God."
Bishop of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia Christian Stablein also addressed the attendees.
"Renewing the confession means that in place of the sentence 'homosexuality is sin,' a sentence that was never true, one that you have heard so far too often, and which I will not repeat again, that the sentence 'Homophobia is sin' takes its place," said Stablein.
After the service Berlin's first 'East Pride' Christopher Street Day march was set to start from outside the church. The demo aims to honour the history of the LGBTQ struggle in East Germany, while also highlighting the ongoing discrimination and hostility suffered by the LGBTQ community in Eastern Europe.

And the proper term is Homomisia, a REVULSION of thing homosexual, not homophobia. Do homos scare anyone. I learned that term from a FReeeper several years back.

I guess by modern day standards, Lot and the Angels were Homophobic just before God destroyed the city of Sodom with fire and brimstone.

The most “homophobic” person I ever knew came out of the closet ten years ago. Thank God he is celibate and not killing himself with AIDS. “Homophobic” is not the same as believing that conduct is not appropriate.

Do you think that Wolfgang Beyer could provide a compelling chapter and verse to prove that “homophobia” is a sin? I didn’t think so. He needs to remember an important spiritual truth - only God gets to define sin.
