A Rwandan man who reportedly handed himself in to police after the murder of a priest in western France on Monday met with Pope Francis in 2016, according to French Catholic media.

The suspect, identified by the media as Emmanuel Abayisenga, 40, is also the main suspect in an arson attack on the cathedral in Nantes, northwestern France, in July 2020.

The murder victim was named as Fr. Olivier Maire, 60, the French provincial superior of the Montfort Missionaries (the Company of Mary). His death was announced on Aug. 9 by French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin.

The French bishops’ conference and the Conference of Religious of France said in a joint statement that the suspect “was staying with Fr. Olivier Maire” in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre, a commune in the Vendée department, at the time of the murder.

Miss JP2. He was my Pope.

Francis will never be. He sides with oppression.

JP2 sided with freedom. He brought down the wall with Raegan and Thatcher.

Went to East Germany before and after the wall. Spent a day at Brandenburg gate a few months after the wall fell watching families get reunited. I’ve never cried so hard.

Have a big chunk of the wall in my living room.

“So in France you can be an illegal immigrant, torch Nantes cathedral, never be expelled and reoffend by murdering a priest. What’s happening in our country is unprecedented: the total failure of the state,” Marine Le Pen

Emmanuel Abayisenga is a Catholic.

But then again, Jorge Bergoglio is also a Catholic.

And it is the latter who has done so much more to damage the Catholic Church, the Catholic faith and the souls who hold it dear.

Francis seems to have an affinity for murderers, and never gives them formal corrections:

After all, it's "Who am I to judge?", except for those rigid, sour-pussed, rosary counting, traditional Catholics.

Well, there is no reason to think that Pope Francis encouraged him to commit arson or to kill the priest.

The Rwandan suspect would have been 12 or 13 at the time of the major genocide in 1994.
