Is the pope Catholic?
He’s really in trouble this time 🥱
“That may mean walking away from our parishes (with our donations) to find where a Latin Mass is being celebrated.”
Yes. I’ve been saying this for a long time. The laity holds the power, exercise it!!!!
“Previous norms, instructions, permissions, and customs that do not conform to the provisions of the present Motu Proprio are abrogated.”
Why should I scroll to the english translation? I think it should be in latin, so I can listen to it without understanding it.
"I say this because it's my Church!", Pope Francis.
The Impopester is a Marxist installed by the New World Order to destroy the Church.
I’ve been told that Jesuits are like that.

Not to be taken lightly, although I was raised Catholic ( now attending a spirit inspired church) us Bible readers can see easily the age old prophecies are being fulfilled. The Catholic Church has fallen , as many Presbyterian, Methodist and Anglican have. Christianity is being attacked from every nation, every angle, there is nothing clean, righteous and pure being spewed from any government. Satan is using everything in his toolbox, Covid fear, distrust, division….and senile, decrepit old Joe is leading the attack. Christians, prepare for a historic battle.
“I say this because it’s my Church!”, Pope Francis.
Did he actually say that?
Oh please, the Latin Mass is exactly the same words every time. Read through it in whatever you favorite language is (or in more than one) and then you can bask in the beauty of the Latin language and its root influence on English while internalizing the content.
The thing about New Coke is that the execs who approved it initially insisted they were sticking with it as the flagship while “Classic” would around for the loyalists who preferred it. This was essentially the move that JP2 and B16 took albeit belatedly... taking decades longer than the Coke execs. Bergoglio’s latest move would be analogous to a new CEO in 1986, saying “hmmm New Coke is fading while Classic is regaining market share. Let’s scrap the latter.” That would make no sense ... unless the CEO is a saboteur secretly working for Pepsi.
There’s a reason there have been no Jesuit pope’s until now and I pray there’s never another one after Francis.
I survived 7 years of Jesuit education and still managed to convert to the True Faith in my 50’s after decades of internal debate. As a protestant teen in the late 70’s, I understood immediately that there was something inherently wrong with Novus Ordo. Time has simply proven that to be true.
The Holy Spirit will soon remove this heretic and send us a good and faithful shepherd.
People are fixated on the "Latin" part of the Latin Mass, but the language isn't really what this is about. It's a different, much richer rite.
Just a little sample: the New Rite starts at many parishes with a large company of people processing up the aisle to a cheery-if-insipid tune, followed by the priest grinning at the people from behind a microphone and wishing them "Good morning!". (No, that's not necessarily how it's supposed to be done. But it often is how it is done.)
The Old Rite begins with thousand-year-old Gregorian chant (with a text almost always taken from Scripture) as the priest and servers approach the steps in front of the altar, and then fall on their knees, saying sotto voce Latin prayers, taken straight from the Old Testament, about how unworthy they are to offer this sacrifice. See the difference?
Well, looking at the translation at the link, to me, the first part of the Latin Rite seems very scripturally rich.
I am surprised to see the confiteor three times.
I am also surprised to see a Final Gospel after communion.
Much of the liturgy of the Eucharist looks very familiar.
I am surprised that some priests would not even consider concelebrating the Novus Ordo. To say you do not prefer it is one thing. Yo say it is so far away from truth that you cannot even pray it with your fellow Catholic Christians seems a stretch to me, and not right. And yet I am also appalled that the Pope bears such a grudge against the Latin Mass and it’s fans. He probably thinks they are cult members. I think there is plenty of room for the different rites and variations of the rites, as justified by theological/scriptural inquiry guided by the Holy Spirit.
I was an altar boy for many years of my youth. I learned enough Latin that I appreciated it. The original Mass was a lot of shock and awe and I was taught that I could go to any RC church in the world and it would be the same. That was very unifying. I never liked the Mass after it was changed - especially all of the hootenanny songs. NOTHING is more magnificent than a hymn sung along with a pipe organ.
