Some people intellectually know God is real, and thus have faith, though they feel no giddy sensation. Job, for instance, felt miserable, yet he never doubted God.
Some people worry that if they don't feel ecstatic, they lack faith. But faith is demonstrated through works. You might not feel ecstatic or "spiritual," but you know God is real so you pray even if you don't feel it, and continue to read the Bible, and perform acts of charity (even if you feel hate for the person you're helping).
Conversely, many group events can instill feelings of euphoria. Rock concerts, political gatherings, protests, etc. I suspect that some people who "feel it" at church nevertheless don't really know Christ.
She said, and I quote, "They have the word, but not the spirit."
She was also a hardcore Democrat, fiercely "pro-choice" on abortion, loudly pro-LGBT, and a pot smoker.
