“... the Younger Dryas event occurred and flooded everything...”

It kind of crosses the theories. The Jewish Bible, the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh, doesn’t specifically, or broadly, mention how the flood occurred, just that it did and God caused it.

The Younger Dryas event was formed in Africa and has produced some meteor hits that could have been involved as they say it was caused by meteorites or asteroids. But how do you prove it as there are other questions not entertained?

It was referenced that the entire surface of the earth was deluged in water. In order to cover the Himalayas, the amount of water required would be eight times the amount of water present on the earth’s surface and its atmosphere. This would require a 0.2% increase in the mass of the earth, resulting in a small change in the orbital pathway of the earth around the sun.

Such a vast amount of water would have crushed and killed virtually all plant life, and devastated life in the sea. (Not to mention another problem: Where could all that water drain to?) Therefore, the post-flood restoration process would have required a creative work almost as extensive as the original creation itself. Did the flood waters rise to a height of six miles above sea level and then suddenly just disappear? So the hard question is where di it come from and where did it go?

I’m clueless. I remember the priest in Rudy saying:

In 35 years of religious studies,” replies Cavanagh, “I’ve come up with only two hard, incontrovertible facts: There is a God . . . and I’m not Him.”

The Younger Dryas event didn’t dominate in Africa, not that it matters and the water was already here in inland seas and locked into ice. The earth didn’t need to be entirely covered in water to destroy life on the planet.

Even now if the sea lever were to rise 300’ most human habitation would end. BTW the sea level is 300’ higher than it was previously.

I recall studies which focused on the explicit Hebrew in Scripture, where the flood was caused by fountains from the deep. There is also conjecture of a water barrier over the atmosphere, which was pierced and then collapsed.

Just has the flood may have came from waters not on the surface, the sea floor may have spots where the waters receded back into the deep and the oceans now are closer to where they were upon the Deluge.

Gen 6 and history of Giants, Nephilim, and evil spirits also plays into the study.

If one doesn’t ignore the evidence, there is substantial evidence consistent with Scripture.
