PROFITING FROM PROVERBS – 7/14/2021

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).

TOPICS: Ministry/Outreach
KEYWORDS:
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).

“Righteousness exalteth a nation,” with God: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:3).

The nation that does right by God, and by God’s people—God will bless them. God will exalt that nation. I realize that the tiny nation of Israel isn’t all right with God right now, but one day they will be. One day God’s people will return to Him during the Tribulation. When the Arabs took over that country, the land didn’t produce anything for them. When the land was returned to Israel’s control—God caused it to prosper, and the brown dirt is now luscious and green.

The Arabs practically went broke trying to get Israel to produce crops for them. The Jews aren’t having any problems getting stuff to grow for them. The land has blossomed under the Jews.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation,” I realize that Israel isn’t doing right today in the sense of the gospel, but in the sense of national affairs—that Jew has the right slant on things. When someone messes around with their country, they take care of it. America sits back and bemoans it, “Well, we don’t want to get anyone mad at us. We don’t want to upset anybody. We don’t want public opinion to be against us.” That Jew isn’t worried about public opinion, he’s just worried about taking care of his folks.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation,” Israel isn’t afraid of capital punishment. I believe in that. We need to clean out our jails and take care of these murderers, and these rapists, and these child offenders. Use the tools that God gave us. They are always talking about overcrowding in the prisons, we could empty them out in nothing flat. We just need to get the courts that think they are legislatives bodies to get their hands out of the thing and let us do what needs to be done. Boulder dam makes all the electricity we need.

Paul said that if did anything worthy of death, let him die. Romans said the magistrates does not bear the sword in vain . . . until the courts get involved. The magistrate doesn’t use his sword to spank the bottoms of murderers, he cuts their heads off with it.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation,” since America kicked God and prayer out in the 1940’s, and since our nation has turned their backs on this Book, and has grown soft on crime—our nation has become a cesspool of homosexuals, lesbians, and perverts. That stuff doesn’t exalt a nation, “but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Daily Bible study is necessary if we are going to begin our day with the right attitude and the right spiritual diet. Proverbs has 31 chapters, and most months have 31 days, so let's read a chapter of Proverbs a day and see what God might have for us. As the Lord leads, share with us what God has shown you in a special way and by His grace let us build up a devotional repository. Let's keep our knives and forks handy for some daily bread! Ideally, a chapter or two of Proverbs will fit in nicely with a good plan of reading our Bibles through each year.

If anyone would like to be added to the ping list, please let me know either by post or by p.m.
