[Catholic Caucus] Gary Michael Voris is wrong: the ancient immemorial Mass is never an idol
Here’s a recent outburst from Gary:
First, Gary needs some instruction on how the internet’s work. A claim on the Internet to represent SSPX is not trustworthy. Because of the nature of the Internet every claim made thereon must be verified. Without verification these individuals who use denigrating and indecent language do not represent Mass-going Catholics simply because they claim to.
Second, the immemorial traditional Latin Mass is never an idol: it is always and in every case of vanquisher and a destroyer of idols. This is the case because the valid and licit traditional Latin Mass, offered by a duly ordained priest who intends to do what the Church does, is the very same sacrifice of Christ offered once and for all on Calvary, differing only in that it is unbloody, which Sacrifice vanquished sin and death, and all evil including idolatry.

What a silly diversion. The key point brought up by Voris is the supposed sexism and racism of the sspx!

Is this the Church Militant guy? I’m surprised at him if it is. It is and I agree.
Anyone who would chose the Traditional Latin Mass would also be choosing the traditional Catholic morality that would find the use of profanity disgusting.

He seems to have a personal grudge against the SSPX which began when he got a large infusion of money from an antiSSPXer- but he has definitely made it his own. The SSPX certainly isn’t perfect, and he brought to light some things which were good to bring out- but he can be counted on to spin even minor defects into the worst possible interpretation- including taking a heated twitter conversation from what I’m guessing is an anonymous poster as being the official position of the SSPX . It’s sad.

Well I don’t really know a lot about the SSPX people, but I see them as being of good faith. And I don’t think it is ok at all to say that anyone’s preference for the Latin Mass is idolatry. That seems pretty close to blasphemy to me. Quite frankly even if they were the worst people in the world, is not the Mass for sinners too?

There’s something wrong with Voris. He presents himself as a “conservative” Catholic, so why is he constantly picking fights with fellow Catholics on the right? This kind of intramural squabbling does nothing but help the modernists.

Voris being chauffeured by Christine Niles Real manly!

He claims to be ex-gay, as I understand it.
Voris has become unhinged.
