Bishop William J. Callahan, the bishop of La Crosse, Wisconsin, today issued a decree removing Fr. James Altman as pastor of St. James the Less. Fr. Altman has suspected for some time that his removal was forthcoming, but plans to fight the order. Fr. Altman cares for his 90-year-old parents at the parish rectory of St. James the Less. It remains to be seen if Bishop Callahan will forcefully remove them from the rectory.

There is absolutely no mechanism in the Catholic church for any of the “faithful flock” to so anything to help reform the Catholic church.
The hierarchy took out all the New Testament options that helped keep them accountable by others.
You might say that is why and how Orthodox and other churches sprang up. The Catholic church has been incorrigible since before that time.

Catholics can stop attending all churches whose God Fearing Priests are being persecuted. Catholics can withhold all tithing to the church. Catholics can attend Mass conducted outside the church by persecuted faithful Christian Priests. In parking lots. In fields. If The Flock rebels against the Corruption The Flock can make a difference.
Can’t one of the good Bishops (eg. Strickland) take him in?

What reason does the bishop give to justify these sanctions? What’s the nature of the conflict?
He’s embarrassing the bishop by being a better man, a better Catholic and a better priest than the bishop.
It’s a “not much different than what happened to Trump,” scenario.
When everyone is against was is good and healthy, you get situations in which anyone standing up for what is right is drummed out with any lie that will stick.
