Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Matthew 10:1-7
Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus commissions the twelve Apostles. Perhaps we can see here a fulfillment of his prophetic invitation to the first disciples: “Come after me and I will make you fishers of men.”
“Come after me.” This is a Hebraicism that indicates discipleship. Jesus is not offering a doctrine, a theology, or a set of beliefs. He is offering himself. He’s saying, “Walk in my path; enter into the world that I have opened up.”
“And I will make you fishers of men.” This is one of the best lines in Scripture. Notice the first part of the phrase: “I will make you.” God is the one who makes us from nothing. To live in sin is to live outside of the creative power of God, to pretend that we can make ourselves. How wonderful that he tells us that he will make us!
And what he makes us is always a reflection of himself: a fisher of men. God wants to draw all things and all people into a community around him, in him. He is a fisher of people—and so wants us to be.
Yet the heretic, Bobby Barron, preaches that Jesus Christ is just the privileged way to salvation, not the only way to salvation.
Saved by “Conscience”? The Gospel According to Barron
I mean, Christ is the privileged route to salvation.
And I guess Barron thinks Jesus never offered us any doctrines, any theology or any set of beliefs, e.g. the Beatitudes.
This is Barron's idea of Jesus:
Why do you keep slandering me, Murph? The only one calling Jesus Christ a liar is your heretic hero, Bobby Barron.
Jesus warned us that souls would perish in Hell; Barron hopes Jesus Christ was lying about Hell.
Jesus Christ said no one comes to the Father, except through His Son. Barron says Jesus was lying, and that Jesus is only the privileged way to salvation.
I'm calling Bishop Barron a liar, Murph. And I'll continue to do so despite your slanders.
But that's not what Barron says. Barron said following Christ was only an "invite" from Him and only a privileged way to salvation.
You're just posting his emails which are BS. His junk should be posted on the vanity forum.
Read what Barron said to a inquiring Jew of good will:
We still would say that the privileged route, and the route that God has offered to humanity, is the route of His Son, but no, you can be saved.
No attempt to convert the man, Murph. And the heretic, Barron, uses VC II to back up his heresy. Absolutely pathetic.
Did not Jesus Christ offer His life to save both Jews and Gentiles? Barron's not acting Christ-like; not at all.
Answer the question, Murph!
No, he didn’t. He said no such thing.
Why do you keep covering for the heretic? He’s not God.
I answered the question: Only God knows who will go to Hell.
So go on and worship your little god, the heretic, Bobby Barron.
I never considered you or Barron to be "faithful Catholics" so the above question is not applicable.
Unlike you, all faithful Catholics know the Fatima prayer and they pray it.
And the fact that you had to ask such a question supports my above opinion of the both of you.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.
That should answer your silly, ignorant and insulting question.
One of the two principal co-consecrators of Barron was Cardinal Blase Cupich.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
You're so funny, Murph.
Why don't you send me Joe Biden's FAQ page from his own website, and tell me Biden, like Barron, is a faithful Catholic.
Barron is a heretic.
Anybody who pimps for a heretic is not a faithful Catholic.
Carry on.
