Daily Mass Gospel Reflection- Troubled Waters
Word on Fire Ministry ^ | 6-20-2021 | Aux. Bishop R. Barron

Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Mark 4:35–41

Friends, the story at the heart of our Gospel for today is the storm at sea. Karl Barth said that the stormy waters in all of these cases stands for das Nichtige, "the nothing," that which stands opposed to God’s creative intentions, difficulties both interior and exterior, difficulties physical, psychological, and spiritual.

The disciples in the boat are, as I’ve often said, evocative of the Church, making its way through time and space. And those waters are symbolic of everything that besets the members of the Church. To stay within the emotional space of the story, this must have been a terrible storm, to have terrified experienced sailors. This is no small problem, no minor difficulty.

Do you know the de profundis prayer? It comes from Psalm 130: "Out of the depths, I call to you, Lord. Lord, hear my cry!" It is the prayer we should offer at the darkest times of life, when we find ourselves lost and in the shadow of death, when, in our desperation, we feel utterly incapable of helping ourselves.

The Lord addressed Job out of the storm
and said:
Who shut within doors the sea,
when it burst forth from the
womb;

when I made the clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling
bands?
When I set limits for it
and fastened the bar of its door,
and said: Thus far shall you come but
no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be
stilled!

Jack Chick was rabid anti-Catholic, much like Jorge Bergoglio.

Gloria TV is a conservative, traditional Catholic website.

Regarding Bergoglio's Angelus today on the Gospel:

Commenting on the Gospel passage of the storm quelled by Jesus - which by coincidence the liturgy proposes today on the day that the United Nations dedicates to refugees (illegal invaders) - the pontiff recalled that faith begins with the cry "Lord save us", the same prayer that today too many people "who come on boats" pray at sea.

Bergoglio has to twist every Gospel into own evil desires. There were no "refugees" on the disciples' boat and muslims pray to a different "god". They pray to a "god" that commands them to smite, or at least subjugate the "infidels" (i.e., Jews and Christians).

There's your "troubled waters", Murph. Maybe that'll help you understand the critiques of Bergoglio, the individual, not the Catholic Church as you insinuated.

Never forget those Killer Bees: Bergoglio, Biden and Barron, all practicing Catholics in good standing.

Barron on Biden:

How should Christians vote? Bishop Barron, Never-Trumpers muddy the waters

Barron published a murky, equivocating commentary on what he describes as the “intense dilemma” Catholics face with regard to their vote.

What "intense dilemma" existed for a Catholic to choose between Trump and Biden in 2020, Murph?

Barron is as bad a Bergoglio and Bernadin (anoter killer bee) and their "seamless garment" argument to diminish the fight for the unborn.

He is your Pope... you can disagree with him, yes... But you cannot direspect him or the Office...that is offering Calumny.
Same goes for Bishop Barron.

as far as Joe Biden, he is a corrupt politician who uses the Lord. I would not be so concerned of him. You must pray for him.

More concerning is your attack on the Church. You thrive on it. Your hatred you exhibit is from the devil, not Christ. Are you not a Father?

You really need to look into the Seds or the schismo SSPXers...I think with your capacity for vitriol, you would be much happier.... its not healthy to be a part of something- or even claim to be - that you so vehemently dislike, day after day.

You apparently don’t know the meaning of calumny.

You have used it quite often, always incorrectly.

You also incorrectly stated Catholics worship the Blessed Mother.

I advise you seek another spiritual father, than that heretic, “Hell is Empty” Barron.

I think with your capacity for vitriol,..

That's hillarious, coming from one who demands respect for the man, Jorge Bergoglio, the Vicar of Vitriol.

Pope Francis Little Book on Insults

Just take a peek at the first few insults, Murph, and tell us Catholics that we need to respect this evil, demented man who speaks terrible things about human feces.

So, yes, he does need prayers, many, many prayers.

And speaking of vitriol, I find it quite amusing that whenever traditional Catholics disagree with with you, you immediately start comparing them to sedevacantist or schismatics. It's like a gag reflex; Bobby Barron taught you well.

Do you think I do not know I am a sinner ?
Stop deflecting to other people...
You are NOT responsible for them...God is their judge...
Trust in God...
Do we not Pray for the Pope at every Mass? The dark negativity that consumes you is not healthy... or the mark of a joyful
Christian....
How can the light of Christ shine from you if you choose only the negative?

That whenever traditional Catholics disagree with with you, you immediately start comparing them to sedevacantist or schismatics...

The role or purpose of the Seds or those who refuse the Church's God given authority- is to damage the Church, to detract from it for their own purposes...There is no benefit to Christ's Church in any of that.

If any mad-trad, glad-trad, rad-trad whatever- who THEN points to those who obtain division of the Church and sides with those who have publicly denounced the Church- as standard bearers in this cause of fighting todays modernism (not V2)- Let them be Anathema as well.

In or out.... time to choose....

...those who have publicly denounced the Church

You continue to conflate "the Church" with Jorge Bergoglio.

They are not one in the same, unless one is papalator which you appear to be.

I have never denounced the Catholic Church, only certain, apostate individuals. Your misrepresentations of me are despicable but typical coming from you.

Really ? What is your deal -- there you go again... mis-construing, and intentionally being accusatory, absent of the Truth. This seems to be a common place occurrence, that through repetition only serves to highlight a less than disingenuous repartee.

I NEVER SAID - YOU "denounced the Church"....

Re-read my comment to you slowly....

I wrote...If any mad-trad, glad-trad, rad-trad whatever- who THEN points to those who obtain division of the Church AND SIDES with THOSE WHO HAVE publicly denounced the Church..."

For those WHO SIDE WITH THOSE WHO DENOUNCE THE CHURCH... ought to be Anathema as well.

How you derive that to be taken in the way that you did is all on you. In any event - I don't think you realize how you can validate and embolden the haters of the Church, and in so doing assist the process of keeping people AWAY from the Church- as unintentional as you may think it to be.

Because you posted it to me.

Because you have earlier falsely accused me of being a schismatic.

Because you have earlier falsely accused me of being a sedevacantist.

Because you constantly and falsely “mind-read” me and tell others “what I think”.
