New fossils reveal one of the largest land mammals ever found Monica Lewinsky responds to viral HBO intern's mistake: 'It gets better'
More than 20,000 Christians have signed an online petition urging U.S. Cathholic bishops to "stop partisan politics," pushing back against their efforts to rebuke President Joe Biden and other Catholic politicians that support womens' reproductive rights.
U.S. Catholic Bishops voted on Thursday to approve the drafting of a "teaching document" that would rebuke Biden and other Catholic lawmakers for receiving communion while supporting abortion. The result of the vote was announced on Friday, with a 168 in favor and just 55 opposed. The decision came despite guidance from the Vatican to take a more cautious and careful approach to the issue.
"If this right-wing hit job proceeds, it will be in spite of the Vatican warning against the inevitable divisions," said the petition by Faithful America, which describes itself as the largest online community of Christians putting faith into action for social justice. "It would also be just for show: Washington's Archbishop Wilton Cardinal Gregory has made it clear he will not deny Biden Communion, proving the vote's only point is to send a partisan signal."
The Christian organization said the conservative bishops were pushing the effort forward and "prioritizing cheap political points over spiritual grace."

Gregory lied about the clearing of Layfayette Park. The guy is a partisan hack.
Faith into action for social justice?
See, the problem is which/what social justice? There are different senses of it and through different sorts of agency by which that may be pursued. The range between them is potentially vast.
I suppose the only answer is to lurk a bit to find some answers.
Faithful America, mind your own business.
Catholics aren’t being ‘political’, they’re simply upholding their Faith and teachings. Good on them.
Biden doesn’t have to be Catholic and Catholics don’t have to be Bidens.
(and, in passing will mention, that muslims and jews don’t condone abortion either, (and I’m pretty sure it’s out for Buddhists, too). But the target isn’t all religion, is it? Just the Christian one upon which inalienable rights rests, that no other religion guarantees.
Christians, Eh? If they aren’t Catholics they need to STFU and worry about themselves and their souls if they believe abortion enablers should receive the Sacraments. Abortion enablers are neither Christians nor followers of Catholicism.
Yes, each of the bishops (not the USCCB) has a duty to correct the individual congressman in his own diocese for signing this apostate evil letter.
The heavenly quarry just received an order for 20000 mill stones.
