Surely the pastor knows that the Church teaches that the homosexual orientation is not sinful but disordered. It’s only when they act on it that sinfulness enters in. The sad thing about implicitly telling people to have “Pride” in engaging in unnatural acts is that absent repentance and healing they actually become filled with self-loathing, hating themselves, others, and God.
I agree wholeheartedly. Homosexuality itself may not be any more of a sin than other sins. But defining yourself by the sin with pride entrenches the sin more into your being, and more into society as a whole.
