So the argument is that the Eucharist is supposed to strengthen, support, and nourish the sinner?

What happened to repentance being part of all that?

So far this Pope has been a major disappointment.

The Eucharist IS NOT the bread of sinners. The consecration only begins after praise, study of the Word, confession and reconciliation with the rest of the gathered body. At this point in the service we have been forgiven, sanctified and reconciled with God. It is at this point that we approach the table and receive the Bread of Life. This is taken from the book of Leviticus. The sin sacrifice and burnt offerings are offered first - - - then the peace offering, in which the priest and now cleansed sinner share the food together. The Eucharist is the peace offering, in which we share the body of the sacrifice.

In the homily for Corpus Christi Sunday, our priest said we genuflect to the crucifix. Not exactly, we genuflect to the Blessed Sacrament! That’s what the sanctuary lamp is for, so anyone entering the church knows instantly if the Sacrament is present and knows to genuflect.
