Acts 15 addresses the whole issue of law keeping for church age believers.
Christians have died to the Law and are not under it any more.
Right.
Jesus was born under the law and taught under the law to those primarily under the law. Again, gentiles were not under the law, however Jesus used the law to teach even the gentiles. What was Jesus teaching?
Jesus’s teachings sounded harsh at times. Some of His teachings seemed to leave folks with little hope. For example, the rich young ruler. Jesus’s teachings of plucking out ones eye, lopping off limbs and so forth.
Jesus was teaching folks that He was to deliver them all from the impossible edicts of the law. It may have appeared Jesus was teaching of maiming oneself in order to enter paradise when in fact what He was teaching...human hopelessness through the law and a new way was about to be introduced.
Hard to conceive that God was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief...Isaiah 53:10. This is exactly what occured.
