Germany: Ecumenical Convention Uses Body of Christ as Toy for Act of Defiance
At the Ecumenical Convention in Frankfurt (May 15), it was up to "Catholics" and "Protestants" to help themselves either by taking Holy Communion or by eating bread at the Protestant Lord's Supper.
The two presidents of the Convention made a start with a childish act of defiance. The President of the Central Committee of German Catholics, Thomas Sternberg, took part in the Protestant service and ate bread there. The Protestant President, Bettina Limperg, the president of the Federal Supreme Court in Karlsruhe, sacrilegiously took the Body of Christ at a mass in Frankfurt Cathedral the same evening (pictured).
The celebrant of the mass, pro-homosex Father Johannes zu Eltz, "apologised" to Protestants by insulting the Church with the gratuitous claim that the Protestants had to struggle under the "arrogance" and "efforts of demarcation" from the Catholic side: "I ask forgiveness for this and thank you for your forbearance."
The president of the German bishops, Limburg's Georg Bätzing, sat in the mass and picked up communion in the hand.

Who is committing the sacrilege? The priest or the Protestant?

Both.
They both know they are abusing the Sacrament (Sacramentum: Consecrate, hallow) of the Eucharist.
Saint Paul did not treat the reception of the Eucharist as a “right” or an “obligation because everyone else is doing it”. He did not treat the Eucharist as bread and wine.
He did not treat the Eucharist as a “routine” and “something I have do to.” He treated it as Jesus. He treated it as the Real Presence of the Son of God and warned against mistreating it. When you receive the Eucharist in an
unworthy manner you are mistreating the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

Maybe this Protestant as a “leader”.
An average Protestant wouldn’t know.
Or understand why any Christian would want to deny Christ to a fellow believer.

Both the protestant and the priest who gave the protestant Holy Communion.

Good question.
For One Guy’s money? Both committed sacrilegious acts.
Full disclosure: This is a conclusion to which it is nearly impossibe to be drawn based on standard catechesis in any modern Roman Catholic diocese.

_______
The Bishops hands are consecrated.
Revising and extending One Guy’s remarks here.
No sacrilege. Depending upon the circumstances, though, the bishop may be committing or perpetuating scandal.

As I mentioned-
Its not a symbol or something symbolic. Saint Paul did not treat the reception of the Eucharist as a “right” or an “obligation because everyone else is doing it”. He did not treat the Eucharist as bread and wine. He did not treat the Eucharist as a “routine” and “something I have do to.”
You present yourself to the Eucharist-CENTRAL- to the Sacrifice of Christ in the Holy Mass in full Communion with knowledge that you are about to receive the Consecrated Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
There isn't a Priest who doesn't know this- and for a Protestant to attend the Mass- while totally acceptable- should know their own beliefs with regard to Papal succession and Priestly consecration. In other words- their both scamming Jesus.

Some protestants believe in the real presence of Christ on His Supper just as He said. However are you saying even your homosexual apps are priests can reach into Heaven and pull Christ onto the altar as you catholics describe it for a legitimate communion? Interesting

Cute.
But it's the other way around... The Priest can do nothing to pull "Christ onto the Altar"- for Chist gives himself to us, sacrificed on the Altar. Yes, Priests are sinful humans too.
If someone who is a Protestant who truly does believe in The Real Presence- and they are pretending going along the Protestant symbol of the Eucharist... thats very contradictory of their Faith. They need to check out RCIA if they truly believe.
No- what is going on with this phony Eucharistic scam beclowns the people whohave converted from Protestantism into the Church, and it is mocking their choice to do so. It also beclowns the many Catholics who will abstain from the Eucharist at Mass- who did NOT make it to Confession that week and are unworthy to receive.
Its an ecumenical joke what is going on here....

I agree there is no communion between catholics and protestants nor should there be from either side. You would not be welcome at our alter (our services yes but not the altar). nor would i present myself at yours. But don’t kid yourself I knowingly receive the true Body and Blood of my Lord at Communion no catholic teachings or priest necessary. And the description of the priest reaching into Heaven and Christ having to obey him was from a catholic source not a protestant one

Form and matter are necessary for a sacrament to be valid. The unworthiness of the priest is irrelevant. This is true of Communion as well as the other sacraments.

Thanks. But I still don’t understand how a Protestant would be “scamming Jesus”.
Would a Buddhist also be scamming Jesus?

Yes. Anyone not a baptized Catholic. The Sacrament is for those in union with the Church who are formed in understanding and reverencing it.

My take is one has to know or believe to do something sacrilegious.
There has to be purpose behind it.

There are transubstantialists and Real presences. A distinction without difference.
RCIA states that the host becomes the very body and the blood on consecration. The protestants who believe in the Luther Catechism acknowledge that the real presence of Christ is received in, with and under the bread and the wine (this is my body...this is my blood...do this in memory of me)
The simple fact is that neither the RCIA or the protestant church sets the parameter for the Lord’s Supper. It is His supper and he stated it quite clearly on that Thursday of mandate around 2000 years ago. It is the will of the Father that all men are reconciled unto him, and that all Christians are part of the body of Christ. This is the notion of the holy catholic (Not Catholic) church.
The Lord invites all who believe to partake in His sacrament, for He was sacrificed once for the atonement of all. I cannot help but believe that Christ weeps when we as humans do not honor HIs will, but argue about ours.
Peace.
